Human Rights Charter
We, Elmeco Srl, acknowledge and strongly affirm the universal and inherent importance of human rights, as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in other relevant international and national instruments. We firmly believe that respect for human dignity and the fundamental rights of every individual are essential principles for a responsible and sustainable company. As Chief Executive Officer, I am aware of our company’s responsibility to contribute to creating a world in which human rights are respected, protected, and promoted across all our operations, throughout our supply chain, and within the communities in which we operate. This commitment is not only an ethical imperative, but also a fundamental element for our long-term success and for building a better future for all.
Our Commitments
With this Charter, Elmeco srl commits to:
- Respect Fundamental Human Rights: We are committed to respecting all human rights recognized at both international and national levels, including civil and political rights, as well as economic, social, and cultural rights.
- Non-Discrimination and Inclusion: We ensure an inclusive and respectful working environment, free from any form of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, national origin, or any other condition protected by law. We actively promote equal opportunities for all employees and collaborators.
- Decent Working Conditions: We ensure safe and healthy working conditions, guaranteeing fair wages, working hours in compliance with regulations, and the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining, in full respect of Italian laws and international standards. We are firmly committed to combating child labor and all forms of forced or compulsory labor.
- Protection of Privacy and Personal Data: We protect the privacy and personal data of our employees, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders in compliance with applicable Italian and European laws, ensuring transparency and security in data processing.
- Responsibility in the Supply Chain: We adopt a due diligence approach to identify, prevent, and mitigate human rights risks within our supply chain. We commit to working with our suppliers to promote ethical standards and respect for human rights.
- Relations with Local Communities: We engage with the communities in which we operate in a responsible and respectful manner, listening to their needs and striving to contribute positively to their social and economic development, in full respect of their rights and culture.
- Grievance and Reporting Mechanisms: Anyone who becomes aware of a potential violation of this “Human Rights Charter” is encouraged and required to report it. Reports can be made to:
• The direct supervisor;
• The Human Resources Department;
• Directly via the “Reports to Management” box located at the entrance.
Elmeco guarantees that no retaliation will be tolerated against anyone who reports in good faith a suspected violation. Reports will be investigated, and where appropriate, corrective actions will be implemented. - Transparency and Reporting: We communicate regularly and transparently about our progress and the challenges encountered in pursuing these commitments, through our corporate communication channels and sustainability reports.
- Training and Awareness: We promote training and awareness on human rights among our employees at all levels, in order to create a corporate culture that values and respects fundamental rights.
- Ongoing Due Diligence: We are committed to continuously monitoring and assessing our impacts on human rights and to adopting preventive and corrective measures to continuously improve our practices.
As Chief Executive Officer, I take full responsibility for promoting and supporting these commitments within Elmeco Srl. I will ensure that the necessary resources are allocated for the implementation of this Charter and that the protection of human rights is integrated into our strategies, policies, and decision-making processes.
